How do you build momentum?

I have always believed it’s anchored in capacity building, ensuring a common language, building for sustainability and engagement. I am grateful to Trevor MacKenzie for his work with us this year and his recent four days with us at Nishimachi International School. As we implement our 3 Pillars of Learning from our new Strategic Plan, this kick-off to the work was key, and a model for future momentum. Over his days at our school we organized for maximum impact with Trevor through:
– Co-planning and co-teaching of lessons
– Organizing two full faculty sessions
– Hosting a parent Learning Chat
– Closely working with our Director of Learning Katie Mayne and the school Learning Leadership Team
– Hosting a Saturday workshop for our teachers and educator from here and beyond.
Whether the conversation was around ideas for provocations, deeper questions, real world applications, conceptual understanding, valuing process over product or shifting spaces to shift mindset, these four days were powerful – and it’s just the beginning.
Thank you Trevor for saying yes when I asked, and for working with us to build momentum in our work embedding our Pillars of Learning.
